The Teaching Method

Each month, Hannah's Art School will introduce a broad theme, through which various art projects will be centered around: whether it be seasonal, educational, social, scientific, etc.  For example, one theme could be "Spring."

Accordingly, art projects for the month will be centered around the chosen theme.  Using the Spring theme, for example, we may explore drawing/ painting the various signs of Spring; in the intermediate and advanced levels, we may explore more complicated Spring themes such as regrowth/ regeneration, how to express more complicated sentiments associated with seasonal transitions, among others.

Of course, the themes will remain broad enough to allow individual artists to explore their unique creative direction!

 Individualized

Emphasis on fundamentals and introduction to the creative process:  shapes, colors, development of themes, hand-eye coordination (draw what you see).
Emphasis on multi-dimensional shapes, light/ shading, textures, composition; greater emphasis on peer review and development of the artist's vocabulary.
Emphasis on all intermediate elements with greater instructional scrutiny, progression toward dynamic expression with purpose and broader themes in mind.

This program is designed for a more specific purpose such as college portfolios, or  specialized drawing or painting lessons, or a specific assignment, contest entries, or other artistic need.

Individual and group projects, including regular peer review and oral presentations.

Primarily individual-centered, with peer review and presentations to enhance the artistic vocabulary.
